Senior Vice President, Planning and Operations, Business Council of Canada
Jack manages the operations of the Council, including strategic planning, and liaises with the Board of Directors. Jack assists in the development of the Council’s policy priorities, the oversight of financial and human resources, as well as membership development and event planning.Prior to joining the BCC, Jack was a senior executive with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, a global public relations firm where he was Chief of Staff to the CEO having previously served as Trade + Procurement Group Leader, and Public Affairs Group Leader.
Between 2005 and 2012, Jack was a lawyer at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Canada's largest law firm, where he served as the national leader of the firm’s Defence & Security Industry Group and practiced in the areas of government procurement and international trade law.Jack was recognized in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions of Chamber’s Global — The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business (International Trade/WTO), as well as the 2012 edition (Public Procurement).
He was also selected by his peers to be included in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada (Public Procurement).From 1999 to 2004, Jack was the Executive Assistant to a Member of Parliament In that position, Jack worked directly with key stakeholders on a range of policy and legislative issues. From 1998-1999, Jack was Executive Assistant to the Rt. Hon. Joe Clark – Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party and former Prime Minister of Canada.
Jack graduated from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2004 and was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 2005. He also received a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Political Science/History) from the University of Ottawa in 1997.
