Co-Founder and Board Member, SoftServe
Taras Kytsmey is the Co-Founder and Board Member of SoftServe. From 1997 until 2013, he served as the company’s President, leading SoftServe to growth and success as a global provider of high-quality software development and technology consulting services.
Taras was chairman of the IT Ukraine Association in 2011, 2016, and 2020. He has also been a member of the European Business Association (EBA) board since 2018.Mr. Kytsmey is actively engaged in the Ukrainian IT community and is a frequent speaker on panels related to the offshore software development industry in Ukraine.
He is known as a visionary leader and advocate for high-quality, accessible IT education in Ukraine, the implementation of innovative IT education programs, the promotion of trust and win-win as a business model, and the development of local and national business cultures.
A recognized Ukrainian economist, Taras was awarded the Order of the Lion by the Lviv City Council in 2018 for his leadership role in developing the country’s IT industry.Mr. Kytsmey graduated from the Applied Mathematics Faculty of Lviv National Ivan Franko University and obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a thesis in Fuzzy Database Systems. In 2012, he completed Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program. From 1992 until 2002, he worked as a professor at the Lviv National Polytechnic University.
